Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the MC4 Expansion Branch for Go Power Solar Panels

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Go Power solar panel expansion branch. This is going to have the same MC4 connectors that your Go Power solar panels have. So it's going to be very easy to get those plugged in and go. This is going to have the one female port and then three of these male connectors, so you can wire your solar panels in parallel formation.

So if you are looking at this, I would also highly recommend checking out this one male and three female, as well. So you'll probably need both of these to get your setup going, so that you'll have the option to plug both ends of your solar panels in. As you can see, this is going to provide three of these positive plugs and one of the negative there. So, they have them labeled for you so that you can better tell, make sure you're getting everything plugged in correctly. So that's going to complete our look for today.

Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

THANK YOU

Great connectors, very well built. Replaced two defective sets of adaptors purchased from BougeRV. Holding the two brands next to each other it’s easy to see the quality difference.

  • Why Doesnt Go Power Extreme 3 Panel Expansion Use Connector GP22VR
The Go Power Extreme kit part # 34282185 uses like a modular connection that allows to easily add more panels as basically you would just attach an additional connector and that's all you'd need to do. The part # GP22VR is a three panel setup that doesn't have the same room to grow but it accomplishes the same for three panels basically. If you fastforward to the 14 minute mark of the attached install video you can see what I mean.

  • Parts Needed to Install Solar on 2016 Jayco Pinnacle 5th Wheel
Hey Paul; the answer to your question depends on what you want to do exactly. It also depends on what your trailer already has on it. I'm going to assume the 2016 Jayco Pinnacle you put in our fitguide is the trailer you have. I'm also going to operate off of the assumption that it has the solar prep in place. If it doesn't, you will need additional wires to run to everything. If you just want to charge the batteries you will need your 200W solar panel # 34282182 and feet # 34272708 and...

  • Are 3-Way MC4 Branch Connectors Needed To Hook Up 3 Go Power Overlander Expansion Kits?
Yes, since you already have two Go Power Overlander Expansion Kit # 34282182, you will need to add the MC4 expansion branch connectors # GP22VR and # GP82VR, as well as some extension cables to be able to add a third panel. You should also verify that your charge controller is rated for the higher amperage for the additional panels. I have attached a video showing you how to connect the panels together for you to check out.

  • Parts Needed to Expand Go Power Solar Setup from Two to Four Panels
Hi Scott; the first thing you need will obviously be the panels. You can either add two of the Go Power Rigid Eclipse Expansion Kit - 190 Watt Solar Panel # GP47MR or Go Power Overlander Expansion Kit - 200 Watt Solar Panel # 34282182. These come with branch connectors but you will also need # GP82VR and # GP22VR to allow you to run all four panels together. The panels are 10 amp so moving to a fourth will also require adding/changing your solar controller since it will take you over...

  • Solar Panel Needed for 2021 Travel Trailer with Pre-Wired Solar Panel Setup
Your 2021 Rockwood should be pre-wired to work with a Go Power solar panel setup, so it should already have a controller. This means that you should only need solar panels and the connectors to hook them up to the pre-existing wiring socket on your trailer. The Go Power Overlander Expansion Kit # 34282182 has the connectors that you need to accomplish this - you just need to determine how many solar panels you want to use. The panel has connectors that allow you to connect 2 panels together...

  • Is There Difference Between SC4 and MC4 Branch Go Power Solar Panel Connections
Basically they are the same. For whatever reason Go Power calls them SC4 branch like with the part # GP22VR but its the same as the MC4.
